Outlet Bay Sewer District Highway 57 sewer capacity expansion project
Outlet Bay Sewer District (OBSD) has awarded our capacity expansion project to a local contractor, SonRay Enterprises LLC in Sandpoint. This project will increase the sewer collection system capacity along Highway 57 from Millies to Outlet Bay Road which is nearly at full capacity currently. Construction is set to start on May 27, 2025 and will be completed approximately November 14, 2025. We will be publishing the upcoming week’s anticipated work area each week on Thursday evening on our website (www.outletbaysd.com). Our goal is to keep traffic disruptions as brief as possible and will maintain access to all properties at all times with very few exceptions. Temporary detours may be required for some access but will be as brief as possible. Work hours will generally be Monday – Thursday 7 AM to 5 PM.
Work will begin on May 27 starting at the South end of our project near Outlet Bay Road and near the Lutheran Church/Food Bank/Thrift Store on Highway 57. As work progresses, the crew will be working Northward on the West side of Highway 57 in the right of way. Sewer connections to the new mainline will be made as the pipeline is installed and sewer service disruptions will be minimal. We will be working diligently to inform homeowners and business owners when work affecting their property will be occurring, both by posting on our website as well as personal contact from OBSD personnel prior to construction activity in your area.
For this project, we ask that you direct any questions or concerns directly to OBSD and to avoid distracting the SonRay crew that will be conducting the construction activities. You can call 208-443-3831 or stop by our office during office hours 9-11 AM Tuesday through Thursday. We will do our best to address any questions and work with you to minimize impact to your access and services.
Please join us for an overview of the project and a Q&A session on Thursday May 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the OBSD office located at 149 Outlet Bay Road.
Also, as a reminder, the funding for this project has been made through collecting System Development Fees for new parcels created within the OBSD service area. This project as well as any other capital improvement projects are NOT funded by the monthly Operation and Maintenance fees (currently $50/month for each Equivalent Residential Unit).
We hope to keep everyone well informed and minimize any impacts to you during this project. We take pride in the integrity of our system and our personnel and continue to do our absolute best to provide exceptional service to our customers at the lowest possible cost. Working together, we are keeping Priest Lake pristine!
